UFO correlation "heat maps"

We're looking here are the association between daily sea surface temperatures (as measured by satellites with IR cameras) over each 1x1 deg area of the world's oceans and lakes against reported UFO activity, mostly across N America.

The maps here are just a sampler. They show the "heat map" of similarly measure (the "R2" statistic) between some types of UFOs and ocean SST. Most R2 values are well below 10%. I.e. the relevantly-coloured part of the world's oceans only explains around 10% of the day-to-day change in UFO activity of the relevant UFO type. But the statistical tests used in the s/w guarantee the similarity in the 2 types of data are in the 99% confidence level. I.e. there's only around 1% chance the similarly could be there just by luck. Given each type of UFO "lights up" many of the same areas we can be even more sure that some areas really are imprinting on UFO sightings data "because" the relevant physical objects are interacting with those areas in their regular patterns of movement. Perhaps the brighter hot spots are "UFO bases" or "truck stops". Or at least they are areas where the objects habitually travel.

The maps here select certain items from the relevant NUFORC reports. Either the overall "shape" of the object or the color or quality of the light is emits. Sometimes this light is the defining property of the object (e.g. "lights in the sky" at night). But it also includes various objects that may just happen to have been described as having a light of some kind on them.
