Subject: nav model -- movie night!

[uploaded 17 times; last 26/09/2024]

<kym.massbus.org/UFO/navmodel-movie.avi>.

I've just hacked my "nav model" program to show movies of approaching
simulated UFO's. Previously I had -- in the early stages of
developing the sim programs -- made movies showing were various
simulated asteroids were supposed to be as a "plan position" movie --
i.e. where each asteroid was from day to day on the ecliptic. It
dutifully showed what I expected -- asteroids (as small circles) going
around the sun in mostly counter-clockwise direction with little dots
(simulated ufos) sometimes seen moving from one asteroid to another or
an asteroid to the Earth and leaving again.

But I've now enabled the calculation of the position in the sky the
simulated UFO's should be visible at. As the simulation proceeds
ufo's sometimes decide to leave an asteroid and fly toward earth at
their "characteristic speed". (In each sim all ufo's travel in pretty
much straight lines at a ufo-wide constant speed. I'm still amazed
such a simple model can match up so very closely with actual
day-by-day UFO sightings data).

The view from above the sun as objects orbit around it doesn't give
the impact this latest movie has. You can see modelled ufo's leave
various asteroids that continue in their orbits. The ufo's get
further and further day by day from their asteroid-of-origin and
approach the position of the orbiting earth. When the simulated ufo
arrives it disappears from that movie and only re-appears if the
simulation decides to make it fly from earth off to some other asteroid.

In the new movie we see the sky in astronomy terms -- the "RA" is
shown across the bottom axis from 0 to 360 deg and the "DEC" is on the
vertical axis from -90 to +90. The RA is like the celestial longitude
and declination celestial latitude.

On each frame of the new movies I've noted any simulated UFOs that are
heading for earth as red blobs. The top 20 brightest stars are shown
as circles with their name nearby.

The movie proceeds to show the end of each simulated day. The stars
don't move. The simulated UFO's move. But because the AI that tunes
the simulation has found they move so damn fast -- from around .2 AU/d
to .8 AU/d depending on where they originate from and maybe what they
are planning to do when they get to Earth (insert "da da daaaaa"
sound-byte here) -- they leave their last asteroid-of-call and arrive
on earth (and disappear from the sky) in only a few days of travel,
typically.

But the shocking thing for me with this first movie -- where in the
sky these things seem to be.

What are the odds they seem to be hanging around Orion?

From my own observations over the past few years I've seen many LITS
approach around Orion, mostly headed due E. Sometimes there's a flash
in the region and a few seconds later maybe you can see a light maybe
belt-star bright headed off a a good speed to the right (for me here
in the S hem).

I had always thought such things *could* be sats and not anything
unusual. But now it seems *if* any of them are actually coming from
some typical set of asteroids then they could look exactly the same as
that. But they are not necessarily in orbit. They could be speeding
to Earth from some fairly distant asteroid (e.g. 5-10 AU away). If some
are, in fact, way out in space and just appear as a dim dot of light
to me I am shocked. Not what I had expected at all. I thought even
the "unusual" objects are very likely to be in Earth orbit.

But the simulation says they *could* be in transit and only enter LEO
or whatever only after they appear to be moving at sat speeds across
the sky.

The clip is quite short (for me!) and takes ~60 sec to view.

Unidentified aerial phenomena I. Observations of events

Main Astronomical Observatory, NAS of Ukraine,

[...] We present a broad range of UAPs. We see them everywhere. We observe a
significant number of objects whose nature is not clear. Flights of single,
group and squadrons of the ships were detected, moving at speeds from 3 to
15 degrees per second. Some bright objects exhibit regular brightness
variability in the range of 10 - 20 Hz. Two-site observations of UAPs at a
base of 120 km with 2 synchronised cameras allowed the detection of
a variable object, at an altitude of 1170 km. It flashes for one hundredth
of a second at an average of 20 Hz. [...]
An object contrast makes it possible to estimate the distance using
colourimetric methods. [Objects with 0 albedo] are observed in the
troposphere at distances up to 10-12 km. We estimate their size from 3 to 12
meters and speeds up to 15 km/s. [...]
[Astronomers in Ukraine have undertaken their own independent survey
of objects they see flying over the Kyiv region at speeds around 15
km/sec. They are watching the daytime sky at the zenith and in front
of the moon. They see many objects -- some bright and some dark,
different sizes. They travel often singly but sometimes in large
groups. They report brightness is linked with speed. The spectrum
of bright objects is reportedly not reflected sunlight. Objects
have been spotted inside the atm upto ~10 km but also out to ~1000 km
above the earth, travelling up to ~1000 km/sec. They are not likely
anything sent by Russia or any other country].

Paris Technical Conference Takes a Closer Look at Unidentified Anomalous
Phenomena
The Debrief, 06 Apr 2024
Late last year, several simultaneous events took place in Paris
involving unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP), including a filmed
panel interview on ANews Security Web TV and the 3AF Sigma 2 technical
committee conference.
While internationally renowned experts were in attendance there, the
highlight of the first weekend of Nov was undoubtedly the Echo
Event conference, held at the prestigious Sorbonne University.
After a short introduction by organizer Sarah Whiteneim and podcaster
Vinnie Adams of the Disclosure Team, the first speaker appeared: former
Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence Christopher
Mellon.
Mellon became famous for releasing 3 videos of UAP to The New York
Times and The Washington Post. In 2020, the Defense Dept
confirmed that they indeed showed legitimate unidentified objects.
Mr. Mellon began by quoting a NASA commentary describing UAP as one of
the greatest mysteries of our time. He then hailed the progress made
over the past 5 years, noting that in 2017, it was impossible to
talk about the subject of UFOs, touting our contemporary era, where
govt agencies are finally getting to grips with the subject.
According to Mellon, though, many questions remain unanswered:
* Where are these things coming from?
* What is their agenda?
* Is it possible some of those are some kind of probe or
manifestation of alien intelligence?

[.au] Defence drops 10-page UFO dossier
The Mandarin, 08 Apr 2024 03:56Z
The dossier includes 17 defence communications about UFOs and unidentified
aerial phenomena (UAPs) created between July and Oct 2023.

I was told to stop asking questions about UFOs - I was warned there would be
riots if truth got out, says US congressman
The Sun, 04 Apr 2024 14:25Z
Rep. Tim Burchett said someone at Capitol Hill told him "there would be riots"
if details on what the US really knows about UFOs were disclosed.
