Subject: mars quakes and covid #2

[uploaded 12 times; last 08/09/2024]

After the surprise finding in the past couple days that Mars quakes
predict (at the least) US COVID cases, the AI's have been busy
uploading new data from the various websites and have now broken down
quakes by a rough "type".

As expected breaking down the events by some property shows some are
associated with a lessening of COVID cases and deaths down here on
earth, while some are "causing" more cases and deaths.

It's hard to imagine exactly what is going on and whether it really
has anything to do directly with Mars. Quakes on the Red Planet after
all are at least partly caused by Mars' orbit and interaction with the
Sun and Jupiter. You can see on a month-by-month breakdown of the
overall numbers there is an earthquake season at least where the
InSight lander is located.

And breaking the activity down by the TYPE of quake the instrument
detected doesn't make this any easier. Eventually, it seems, we'll have
to come up with an understandable behavioural model that robustly
predicts COVID and stands up to multiple rounds of validation. Until
then all we have are some strong statistical results with at best a
single round of validation (i.e. 1/2 the data estimates the
statistical model and then that is checked to also predict the later
1/2 of the dataset).

With the data now running from 2019 until the end of 2022 the latest
facts printed out by the always-on programs is as follows:

Quake Type Lag-Trans R2 Beta +- stderr(75% CI)
2.4_HZcases1 L13-y 0.10869395 -0.349781 +- 0.0549743

SUPER_HIGH_FREQUENCYdeaths.5 L10-y 0.04545463 -0.15529 +- 0.0380741
SUPER_HIGH_FREQUENCYcases1 L1-x 0.02359719 20614.9 +- 7072.45
HIGH_FREQUENCYdeaths1 L5-y 0.01501029 0.0699517 +- 0.0301743
2.4_HZcases1 L14 0.01266734 4329.47 +- 2099.03
SUPER_HIGH_FREQUENCYdeaths1 L1 0.00728136 25.7268 +- 16.0213
2.4_HZdeaths1 L27 0.00362683 11.9872 +- 10.9598

For those wanting a rundown of what the quake types are, they are
basically broken down by the frequency of the ground waves the
instrument picks up. When they say "super high frequency" they are
using geologist jargon -- it only means 10 or 20 Hz. Not GHz. :) More
details can be found at the relevant website.

We can look vaguely at the "Lag" column and find the s/w has picked up
the best statistical match (all matches are statistically strong at
better than 95% confidence anyway) happens when quakes of all types
are matched up against COVID cases or deaths 10-14 days in the future.
Almost exactly matching our expectation for incubation time for the disease.

Ominously, HIGH_FREQUENCY jolts match up against COVID deaths with a
lag of 5 days, predicting about 1.5% of deaths. For each such jolt
detected on Mars there is statistically robust expectation COVID
deaths rates in 5 days will increase by approx .07 cases/100k
population (+- the error bars). This is way sooner than we would
expect if we were talking about the normal progression of the
disease. It's like "something" is reaching out to people already most
of the way through the development of the disease and "pushing them
over the edge" in a few days time.

However, on the very +ve side we see at the top of the list another
type of quake -- the 2.4Hz waves -- predicts a decrease in both cases
and deaths in the near future (lag of 13 days -- almost exactly the
initially published infection-to-death avg period). For each of these
kinds of jolts we expect cases to decrease .35/100k and deaths to go
down .18/100k in 2 wks time. And there are a LOT of 2.4Hz events in the logs.

So something on or about Mars is predicting changes in COVID
infections. Some of the types of noises the InSight probe is finding
predict decreases and some predict increases. All of these are small
changes but are very robust and certain.

What can be going on? Is "someone" set up on Mars and shining a covid
death ray at Earth every now and then. Are they launching missiles
with COVID virus across space? What? We need to recall that COVID
surges back in 2019/20 came every 100 days and seemed to be related to
the orbit of Mercury (88d period). That may be one way "COVID missiles"
could get from Mars to Earth when Mars is on the other side of the sun.

Particularly since there are what we now should always expect both +ve
and -ve effects the process is hard to imagine in simple terms.
Of course the AI programs can model it easily. But they can't at
present explain in any terms a human can understand what is going on.

As I say, we'll have to look for a simple behavioural model -- like
the "nav model" thinks of things moving around from asteroid to
asteroid and sometimes coming to Earth to predict UFO sightings and a
few other paranormal events (and some other maybe surprising things as
well such as economic and military activities) -- that will be able to
enumerate what some agent or agents are doing and where they are
located with respect to Mars, what they are using as inputs to make
their decisions, what they are performing as their actions, that
inevitably lead to the changes in COVID cases they are apparently
responsible for.

The news is certainly not all bad/threatening. And it *might* be
completely innocent. Maybe virus-covered rocks are flying from Mars to
Earth every now and then. But maybe someone in Mars orbit (you allays
have to remember the weird Martian moons) is firing a COVID canon and
the firing somehow affects the surface of Mars. Someone may be firing
an ANTI COVID canon but some totally innocent change of events may
stop the firing at some point and that, in turn, causes an up-swing in
COVID because the usual "disinfectant projectile" was not fired as normal.

We will have to wait and see what the AI's come up with.
