Subject: kepler update -- movie with AI interpretation of the shadows seen

[uploaded 4 times; last 07/09/2024]

While I was in the mood to create new movies of the Kepler telescope
data I figured I might as well put in the part from the AI where they
use the shadows and bright regions observed to make predictions about
what UFO's will be seen over N Am in the coming days.

So there's a new Kepler update at
<kym.massbus.org/KEPLER/UPDATE06aug2024>. The folder contains a movie
of all the results -- highly massaged versions of the Kepler light
intensity data for 1000s of stars in the tiny region nr Cygnus that it
was looking at until Oct 2018 when the mission folded up. At the
bottom of each frame of the movie are the AI predictions of what the
shadows mean in terms of type of object that is expected to be sighted
in the following days and eventually reported to the NUFORC. Each
square of the image is analysed for "meaning" and each one can produce
a prediction, so the commentary at the bottom of the frame can get
complicated. After the prediction comes a line or 2 about what was
actually reported to the NUFORC about the days plus or minus the date
of the prediction.

The AI manages to get about 1/3 of its predictions right. It manages
to predict the speed of the object it claims to have sighted in the
telescope image from there to the relevant location in the air above N
Am and get the arrival time within +-2 days.

But the gentle viewer will notice there are also many false hits --
where it predicts something yet the NUFORC is silent about those types
of objects for the days before and after the predicted event. Since
Kepler ended before the Pandemic there should have been enough time
for witnesses to report the relevant objects. But you never know --
some of the predictions could still come "true". :)

There are also many "misses". Where the AI saw nothing but the NUFORC
has reports of objects seen in the following days. This is pretty much
expected. The tiny area of the sky Kepler was viewing is only 15x15
degrees -- about 1/3 of 1% of the total sky. It would be "amazing" if
it predicted more than it is doing now.

If you run through the movie -- that takes a couple minutes at 20 days
of Kepler data per second of movie -- every time there is an AI
prediction for the relevant frame the movie stalls for 1/2 sec on that
frame. It may or may not be enough time for you to read the info at
the bottom, so all the "prediction frames" have also been included in
the folder as individual gifs. The top-level index of the folder will
let you view any of the predictions as long as you want.

But if you're going to do it over and over it's probably best to
download the movie, pull it apart frame by frame, and view the frames
one at a time using whatever tools you have available on your machine.

Witnesses report all kinds of interactions between UFO's and what
appear to be military aircraft of one type or another. Some of the
canny ones have mentioned the military seemed to be patrolling the
area before the object or objects turned up ... "like they knew it was
coming".

We have to assume if I can make a program that somewhat predicts when
these things will be seen based on shadows in telescope images then
the US and other militaries should have enough experts on hand to do
exactly the same thing. They might even have had the advantage they
knew what was going on for the past 70 years.

Lawmakers call for centralized reporting, more investigation on UFOs

I hope this revelation serves as an ontological shock sociologically
and provides a generally uniting issue for nations of the world to

[Talking to Les Kean et al for The Debrief, Grusch called for an end to
nearly a century of global UFO secrecy and warned that humanity needed to
prepare itself for "an unexpected, non-human intelligence contact scenario"].

The US government portrays itself as the world's preeminent
superpower, so to acknowledge that there are things in their
airspace, whatever they are, that are faster and more manoeuvrable
and run rings around fast jets doesn't play very well.
So there's the embarrassment factor, and maybe a little bit of
fear that either an adversary has made a quantum leap in
development, which has left the US in a poor second place, or, as
some believe, this really is extra terrestrial, in which case we're
not at the top of the food chain anymore.

[...] We present a broad range of UAPs. We see them everywhere. We observe a
significant number of objects whose nature is not clear. Flights of single,
group and squadrons of the ships were detected, moving at speeds from 3 to
15 degrees per second. Some bright objects exhibit regular brightness
variability in the range of 10 - 20 Hz. Two-site observations of UAPs at a
base of 120 km with two synchronised cameras allowed the detection of
a variable object, at an altitude of 1170 km. It flashes for one hundredth
of a second at an average of 20 Hz. [...]
An object contrast makes it possible to estimate the distance using
colourimetric methods. [Objects with 0 albedo] are observed in the
troposphere at distances up to 10-12 km. We estimate their size from 3 to 12
meters and speeds up to 15 km/s. [...]
[Astronomers in Ukraine have undertaken their own independent survey
of objects they see flying over the Kyiv region at speeds around 15
km/sec. They are watching the daytime sky at the zenith and in front
of the moon. They see many objects -- some bright and some dark,
different sizes. They travel often singly but sometimes in large
groups. They report brightness is linked with speed. The spectrum
of bright objects is reportedly not reflected sunlight. Objects
have been spotted inside the atm upto ~10 km but also out to ~1000 km
above the earth, travelling up to ~1000 km/sec. They are not likely
anything sent by Russia or any other country].
