Subject: web server up again: new version of tess movie

[uploaded 4 times; last 05/09/2024]

I noticed the web server went back up shortly after I posted the last msg.
At the same time I found a hidden dir on my local machines where
the AIs had stashed some files I had not prev included in the old movies,
so I added them to my list of known samples of light curves and made
a new version of the video so there are now 3.

	<kym.massbus.org/UFO/moviebkg.v2.avi>
	<kym.massbus.org/UFO/moviebkg.v3.avi>
	(also at <kym.sdf-eu.org/...>).

The first avi is the original maybe 2y old. The 2nd has 2x the number of
images and the 3rd has 10x the number of images (made just now).

Each movie runs a couple of mins with 5days compressed into 1sec of movie.

The sky is shown in crude "gnuplot" density plot form from Decl -90 to 90
and RA 0 to 360. But the sky is divided into 10x10 deg tiles with each
tile containing at least 10 stars in the first movie and at least 100
in the "v3" movie.

You can see very bright flashes in different parts of the sky from
time to time. These flashes are not just for single stars that may
indicate a flare or eruption of some kind on a single star.
When a whole region has flashes in different places around the same time
you have to wonder what is going on. Also you can see dark shadows race
across some regions from time to time. You might interpret this as
"something" moving against the background of stars. Since the individual
frames in the movie represent days, with all the images for all the
selected stars available on that day (usu images are taken a few mins apart
all through each day for about 28 days straight before there's a break
to point the telescope at a new location to watch) and there are 5
days per movie second you have to scale back somewhat the apparent speed
of any such moving "thing". But calculations show they are generally
a good fraction of and in many cases faster than solar escape speeds
(600 km/s).

The movies are as faithful a reproduction of the images seen by the
telescope as I could manage at the time. S/W development is ongoing and
things will get updated over time. They may still be misleading because
the telescope only points in one direction at a time and moves on
to a new location around every lunar month. So you can only see things
change in one section of the sky during each 28-day period.
The telescope is BIG -- 96 deg by 24 deg -- so a good chunk of the sky
is "active" at any one time. But not all of the flashes and shadows are
captured. You have to interpolate how many there must actually be on
any given hour or day. Any part of the sky that is not currently
being looked at by the telescope are filled in in the movies by
brightness that is the historical average for that part of the sky.
Since some parts of the sky have never been viewed by the telescope they
may appear dark even tho we might know they should contain a super-bright
star. I think e.g. Sirius is one the parts of the sky the telescope has
never directly captured.

Anyway. Have fun with your viewing. It's coming up 5am here and I'll be
out trying to capture some images of the sky myself. The latest things
we're seeing at certain times of the day are very very slowly moving objects
that flash irregularly. Mostly they are directly overhead. Sometimes
off the zenith to the N or S a few degrees. They don't seem to move like
satellites but hard to imagine if they are planes or choppers.
What the heck are they doing up there at all hours of the day and night?

Welcome to the very first official UFO hearing in American history
It's a historic day for everybody who has always wondered if we are alone in
the universe. Although there have already been multiple hearings on UFOs or
UAPs, this is the first hearing in which credible witnesses will testify
under oath in front of Congress. All representatives already offered their
initial remarks and gave all 3 witnesses the chance to make their oath
before the hearing starts. These witnesses are former Commander David Fravor,
former fighter jet operator Ryan Graves, and former Intelligence Official
David Grusch.
