Research involving human subjects
-
This Department of Energy database contains descriptions of the
methods used in all research projects involving human subjects that
are currently funded by the Department of Energy or are performed
at DOE facilities with support from others, as reported to DOE by
DOE grantees and contractors using the standard "Protecting Human
Subjects" form (copy attached). Summary information on all of the
studies has been provided, along with a complete hard copy of the
information, which includes a full report on each project.

DOE Office of Human Radiation Experiments
-
The Office of Human Radiation Experiments (HREX), established in March 1994, leads the Department of
Energy's efforts to tell the agency's Cold War story of radiation research using human subjects. We
have undertaken an intensive effort to identify and catalog relevant historical documents from DOE's 3.2
million cubic feet of records scattered across the country. Internet access to these resources is a key part
of making DOE more open and responsive to the American public.
